Statement from Paula Gold-Williams, President & CEO, CPS Energy regarding CPS Energy’s Green Tariff

“On behalf of our entire CPS Energy team, I would like to extend a sincere thank you to Mayor Ron Nirenberg and the San Antonio City Council for approving CPS Energy’s Green Tariff.  It is a new product that aligns well to our existing solar offerings such as rebates, bill credits for rooftop solar installations under our SolarHostSA program, the opportunity to directly own panels in our community solar farms under our Big Sun Community Solar program, and Windtricity. The Green Tariff also supports our ongoing commitment to the Environment, Reliability and prudent Financial Responsibility, which are all formal components of our company’s Guiding Pillars and Foundation.  As thoughtfully designed, it will help our large business customers transition more smoothly to renewable resources.  Additionally, the Green Tariff further exemplifies how San Antonio is a national leader in solar energy and how CPS Energy continues to be an industry and community leader in sustainability, as we meaningfully move along our creative Flexible Path strategy.  Our CPS Energy Board of Trustees and dedicated employees and I are proud to work alongside a Mayor and City Council that support our community’s evolving and thoughtful journey toward an increasingly cleaner energy future.”
