OVERHEAD IMPROVEMENT PROJECT REQUIRES TWO PLANNED OUTAGES AND TRAFFIC STOPS

The project will require two planned outages at IH 10 Frontage Road and Heuermann Road to improve electric reliability on the northwest side of San Antonio.

January 26, 2024 (SAN ANTONIO) – CPS Energy is working to improve the quality and safety of aging overhead electrical lines on the northwest sector at the intersection of IH 10 Frontage Rd and Heuermann Rd.

The IH 10 project will involve removing and installing a new overhead primary line across IH 10 Frontage Road and Heuermann Road and requiring rolling traffic stops. The work will take place on Sunday, January 28, 2024, from 6:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., weather permitting.

CPS Energy contractor crews will be working on the above project, which will cause two scheduled outages affecting two business customers who have been informed.

OSO Public Safety will provide traffic control on the East and West bound sides of IH10 resulting in nine rolling traffic stops lasting up to 15 minutes.

Drivers are asked to find alternative routes and avoid the areas, if possible. CPS Energy reminds drivers to Move Over or Slow Down, per State law, for crew and driver safety.
