CPS ENERGY WORK RAISES OVERHEAD POWER LINES NEAR IH-35 N AND O’CONNOR ROAD

Drivers asked to find alternate routes to avoid lane closures

January 14, 2022 (SAN ANTONIO)-  CPS Energy contract crews will install taller monopoles near IH-35 North and O’Connor Road over the next three weekends to raise power lines in the area. The work is being done to accommodate a future Texas Department of Transportation (TXDoT) project.

The work will start Sunday, January 16, 2022, and continue for the next two Sundays from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. For safety precautions, intermittent lane closures will take place on the highway and the IH-35 North access road between Weidner and O’Connor roads. Drivers are asked to find alternative routes and avoid the area, if possible, during the project hours.

Dates for the work are as follows:

           Sunday, January 16, 2022

          Sunday, January 23, 2022

          Sunday, January 30, 2022

Law enforcement officers will be on site to provide traffic control. CPS Energy reminds drivers to Move Over Slow Down, per State law for crew and driver safety.
