CPS ENERGY POSTS FISCAL YEAR 2023 BUDGET PLAN ONLINE

April 6, 2022 (SAN ANTONIO) – CPS Energy’s Fiscal Year 2023 (Feb. 1, 2022 – Jan. 31, 2023) approved budget is now available online for the public to access and view.

The FY2023 Budget is consistent with the company’s vision and intended goals for this fiscal year which includes:

1. Supporting the growth of San Antonio.

2. Enabling a cost-effective, economy-wide transition to a decarbonized future in support of our community’s Climate Action and Adaptation Plan (CAAP).

3. Enhancing customer programs and accessibility to be a more resilient, reliable and secure electric and natural gas utility.

4. Advancing the ongoing energy affordability dialogue in our community and at the state and federal levels.

5. Creating further transparency and community engagement.

The FY2023 budget contains the same financial outlook and proposed Operation & Maintenance (O&M) and Capital levels reviewed in detail during the recent rate request process. The document also provides additional context on several key focus areas previously discussed with the community including Infrastructure Resiliency, Technology, Growth and People.

“The posting of the budget plan creates accountability for the commitments we have made to our community for increased transparency,” said Cory Kuchinsky, Chief Financial Officer & Treasurer for CPS Energy.

Regular financial reports also are provided to the CPS Energy Board of Trustees. Board meetings are streamed the last Monday of every month, with some exceptions to changes in dates.  Board agendas and previously recorded Board meetings can be found here. The public is invited to participate in public comment by pre-registering on Friday’s before each Board meeting from 7:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Public comment can be provided in-person by attending a monthly Board meeting or virtually via WebEx.
