OVERHEAD TRANSMISSION LINE WORK TO RESULT IN SHOULDER CLOSURE ON SOUTHWEST SIDE

Shoulder closure will take place Sunday, July 23, while crews install new overhead lines.

July 21, 2023 (SAN ANTONIO) – CPS Energy is working to improve the quality and safety of aging transmission lines in the southwest area of the city at 307 W. Loop 1604 S. near Pleasanton Road.

The W. Loop 1604 S. and Pleasanton Road project will consist of installing overhead electric lines crossing W. Loop 1604 S. and will result in a required shoulder closure as CPS Energy contractor crews work on both sides of the highway.  The work will take place on Sunday, July 23, 2023, from 7:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. No planned outages are expected because of this work.

Alamo Traffic Control will provide traffic control on W. Loop 1604 S. Drivers are asked to find alternative routes and avoid the area, if possible. CPS Energy reminds drivers to Move Over or Slow Down, per State law, for crew and driver safety.
