CPS ENERGY HOSTS THREE MEETINGS WITH NEWLY FORMED RATE REQUEST COMMUNITY INPUT WORKING GROUP

The meetings are part of CPS Energy’s ongoing efforts to increase community dialogue

October 12, 2023 (SAN ANTONIO) – CPS Energy will host three meetings for the newly formed Rate Request Community Input Working Group. The purpose of this group is to offer feedback to CPS Energy management on specific matters pertaining to the utility’s 2023 rate request through a series of meetings available to the public. The meetings are scheduled throughout the fall at CPS Energy’s headquarters from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The Community Input Working Group consists of 19 community members who reside within the CPS Energy service territory, are both residential and business customers, have familiarity with the operations of the utility and how utility rates are set, and have previously engaged in various public input processes. CPS Energy is currently in the process of aligning with the City of San Antonio on a long-range plan specific to rate, including a timeframe of when the rate increase could take place. The specifics of the expected rate increase will be communicated once that process is complete.

The group will meet periodically this fall. These meetings will be open to the public, live streamed, and archived on the utility’s website, along with meeting materials. The group is expected to provide their input to the Board of Trustees in fall of 2023. At the conclusion of each meeting, an opportunity for public input will be permitted on items specific to that meeting’s agenda.
