Networking, advice for veteran business owners at free event

Retired Lt. General Ricardo Sanchez, now CEO for OPTECH Enterprise Solutions, will keynote the 3rd annual Business Bootcamp – Veteran Symposium & Expo this Jan. 27 in San Antonio.

The free one-day conference, hosted by CPS Energy, offers veteran business owners — and those who would like to be — the opportunity to network, learn about contract opportunities and other valuable ways to grow their business.

Sanchez, who served as served as a battalion commander during Operation Desert Storm and later Commander of Coalition Ground Forces in Iraq as part of his distinguished 33 year career with the U.S. Army, has headed up OES since 2011. The company offers “the full breadth of third party logistics and business process outsourcing solutions for clients in the technology, energy and government service sectors.”

Attendees will also hear from CPS Energy CEO Doyle N. Beneby, along with other representatives from CPS Energy, local chambers of commerce and federal, state and local agencies, presenting information on topics such as:

• Funding Your Business
• Insurance and Bonding Requirements
• Marketing to the DOD
• SBA Programs and Services
• Responding to Solicitations

“Our Veteran Symposium & Expo is one way we’re able to bring together our veteran business owners under one umbrella to show them what contract opportunities are available to them and how they can improve or grow their business,” said Eric Cloudt, director of CPS Energy’s Supply Chain Department. “It also gives them a chance to network and build those important, valuable relationships.”

More than 70 exhibitors will be on hand to personally talk with attendees during the afternoon Expo. Exhibitors include Frost Bank, the San Antonio Housing Authority, San Antonio Water System, Silver Spring Networks, Department of Labor and U.S. Small Business Administration.

Registration for the Veteran Symposium & Expo includes FREE admission and parking for military veterans and spouses. Register online here. Questions? Email us at [email protected] or call 210-353-2474.
