TWO CPS ENERGY TEAM MEMBERS TEST POSITIVE FOR COVID-19
SAN ANTONIO – CPS Energy has learned that two additional team members tested positive for COVID-19. We were notified about this on May 25 and May 26, 2020. We remain supportive of our employees and their family members. The affected employees are recovering at home. Personal information, including specific health data, will not be disclosed in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
Neither employee had customer interactions. One remote team member last reported to a CPS Energy facility more than 14 days ago. The second is a field services team member who last reported to work six days ago and who continues to be in quarantine. We do not anticipate this development to significantly impact our business operations.
Aligned to our People First foundation, we remain committed to everyone’s safety. These are the second and third CPS Energy employees to test positive for COVID-19, with the first notification happening on May 8, 2020.
CPS Energy continues to proactively practice social distancing, hand washing, and sanitizing measures to mitigate the potential transmission of the virus among our employees and in our community. On March 27, 2020, more than a third of our workforce began to work remotely, to improve social distancing throughout CPS Energy and across our community. Our 3,100 essential team members remain focused and dedicated to keeping all the needed energy flowing to our metropolitan community of almost 2 million people.
