Solar panels now being installed at Alamo I
By Tracy Idell Hamilton on September 25, 2013
Check out this short video of dual axis solar panels being installed at Alamo I, the 41 MW solar farm. It’s the first of five sites that will total 400 MW of clean, emissions-free solar power built and run by OCI Solar Power, which CPS Energy will purchase for 25 years.
The project is bringing hundreds of jobs to San Antonio — and not just these installation jobs. OCI Solar Power and its partners are also building a solar component manufacturing plant at Brooks City Base, which will create 400 permanent, good paying clean energy jobs, with a projected economic impact of $700 million.
Nexolon America is hosting a job fair this fall; current openings can be found on Monster.com. Resumes may be sent to email@example.com
When it’s fully built out, the 400 MW project will be one of the largest in the country among municipal utilities, and will catapult Texas into the top five U.S. solar producing states.
