CPS Energy joined OCI Solar Power, city officials and others for the groundbreaking of Alamo I, a 41 MW solar farm south of San Antonio.

Alamo I is the first of what will ultimately be 400 MW of solar power plants; CPS Energy will buy the energy produced from them for 25 years. As part of the agreement, OCI Solar Power and its partners are building solar manufacturing and relocating headquarters to San Antonio.

They’ve also given generously to local educational institutions as part of a larger effort, by CPS Energy and others, to help develop the next generation of skilled, clean industry employees.
