SEVERE STORM POWER OUTAGE UPDATE – RESTORATION NEAR COMPLETION INCOMING STORM COULD POSE ADDITIONAL CHALLENGES
THIS INCLUDES STATUS AS OF JUNE 9, 2019 4:00 PM
CPS Energy’s restoration efforts from the impact of Thursday’s severe storm are near completion. If customers are still experiencing an outage we encourage them to call us at (210) 353-HELP (4357).
There were significant challenges to complete restoration to the customers who were still without power this weekend. Each had unique circumstances and different challenges that required additional work outside of just restoring power. In some cases, there were still trees and debris that needed to be removed before we could complete our work. We also identified repairs that needed to be made outside of our infrastructure work, such as specific electrician work, that needed to be completed.
More than 300,000 customers were impacted by this storm either momentarily or with a sustained outage. Our crews worked 757 wire down orders through this restoration process and completed work without any safety incidents. We thank our community for their patience as our team has worked to restore power safely.
CPS Energy is actively monitoring weather conditions and crews are ready to respond to our community as severe thunderstorms with heavy rain and high winds are expected to work its way through our service area the evening of Sunday, June 9, 2019. In the event of additional storm related outages, CPS Energy crews are ready to respond. CPS Energy is encouraging customers to be prepared for potential weather-related outages and downed power lines.
Please check our outage map and refresh for the latest information. Outage safety tips are also included on our website.
