CPS Energy has been working diligently around the clock to safely restore services to our customers. CPS Energy has all available employees on hand to work to restore power to impacted customers as quickly and safely as possible. We apologize for the delay and thank our community for their patience.

- As of 8 p.m. we are currently under 875 customers who still need power restored.
- We have worked 634 wire down orders.
- This is the hardest part of the restoration process because these are the more difficult customers to restore.
- In many cases, our equipment and their properties have suffered significant infrastructure damage and it is going to take time to complete this work.
- As our crews are making repairs and they identify unique situations specific to customers and that is outside of our infrastructure work (such as specific electrician work) our customer engagement team will be notified of these situations and are available to suggest resources to our customers to have this work completed. While it is a customer’s choice to use their preferred contractor for necessary repairs, we are here to help them resolve each individual situation.

- The City of San Antonio has opened cooling centers at Community and Senior Centers.
- The Alamo Convocation Center at 110 Tuleta will be open all night.

- The safety of our customers and crews is paramount, and we are steadfastly practicing safety procedures to ensure power is restored without endangering our customers or our employees.
- We do not encourage the use
of generators to temporarily provide power in homes. We will work with
each customer that is running a generator to ensure their safety and comfort
while we are making repairs.
- For the customer, the use of a generator poses safety risks.
- For our employees who are working in
areas where customers are using generators, this causes an unintentional “trap”
for our crews and could result in their injury.
- Our crews isolate power at the pole to safely restore power for our customers.
- Generator use causes power to flow from the home and when this happens, our crews could begin work not knowing the home is energized which has the potential to cause them injury.
- If a customer has a generator running at their home, we ask them to be mindful of our crew presence and make our crews aware. Please make sure your generator is safely turned off prior to our work to restore power.
- We want to remind our customers to stay away from any downed wires or downed equipment they see.
- Also, as you are driving and see our crews, please slow down and pass them safely.
