Lineworkers achieve prestigious journeyman designation
Nearly two dozen of our lineworkers, the dedicated professionals who restore your power when lightning hits a transformer or a vehicle hits a pole, have worked their way to the highest level of their craft – journeyman.
As many as 21 employee apprentices completed more than three years of on-the-job training recently to achieve this industry designation of expertise. They were recognized Wednesday at a ceremony at our Eastside Service Center.

The new journeymen are part of a group of 200 skilled utility workers at CPS Energy who safely build, maintain and repair our community’s electric infrastructure. They help make our service among the most reliable in the country.
There are more than 375,000 such craftsmen in the United States.
Thank you to all the hard workers who restore our power (rain or shine, dark or night) after that awful lightning strikes!!!
