Bexar County Business Conference helps local entrepreneurs
At CPS Energy, we’re committed to bringing value to our community and those we serve. Several years ago, we launched our New Energy Economy initiative that brought several leading partners to our city, helping spur economic development and job growth for the Greater San Antonio community.
But our commitment doesn’t stop here.
Another way we bring value to our community is by awarding contracts to local companies. Last year alone, we inked more than $148 million in contracts with small, minority, women, and veteran-owned businesses in the San Antonio area. And we’re ready to do business with you!
On Dec. 9, make plans to attend the 15th Annual Small, Minority, Women and Veteran Business Owner (SMWVBO) Business Conference in San Antonio. The free event will give business owners – or those seeking to be business owners – an opportunity to attend informative workshops, network and meet face to face with decision-makers from more than 150 federal, state and local agencies plus private sector companies.
We are pleased to be the premier sponsor of the conference’s Veterans & Business Resource Center. This area is tailored to assisting veteran business owners, or future business owners, with the resources and support they need to successfully launch or grow their business.
“Being in Military City USA, it is important for us at CPS Energy to help ease the transition of military veterans and their spouses into the civilian workforce and into entrepreneurs” states Greg Sarich, Senior Vice President – Enterprise Support and CIO.
Our supply chain experts and other team members will be on hand to speak to you about:
- Conducting business with us,
- Money saving programs for your business,
- And Information on our Burned Veterans Discount and other money saving programs.
You’ll also have the chance to hear from keynote speakers Kenyata Wesley with the Department of Defense, and from Lyn Watts with Microsoft.
The SMWVBO Business Conference is presented by the Bexar County Small Business & Entrepreneurship Department.
