CPS Energy’s Intern 101: Meet Allison Garcia
By Tracy Idell Hamilton on July 26, 2013

Meet Allison Garcia.
She’s a graduate of Tom C. Clark High School who’s headed to Rice University in the fall.
But for the last two summers, Allison has interned at CPS Energy, in the New Programs and Services department.
Check out this video of Allison talking about what she’s learning, what the interview process was like and how the scholarship she’ll earn in the program will help pay for college:

Allison is one of more than a dozen high school students who intern with CPS Energy each summer through its Student Assistance for Education, or SAFE, program. The program gives students work experience in an area relevant to their chosen field of study plus a scholarship for college.
Since it started in 1992, SAFE has awarded more then $585,000 to 125 students.
