A top tier San Antonio hotel is making room for energy efficiency — and that means big savings for them and our community.
The Hyatt Regency, located on the banks of the historic San Antonio River, is an active participant of CPS Energy’s Demand Response program. That means the hotel voluntarily cuts back on power consumption when demand is highest in exchange for a rebate at the end of the season.
It’s a critical energy-saving step that helps protect the state’s electrical grid and helps CPS Energy reach its goal to save 771 megawatts of power by 2020. CPS Energy’s Ramon Gonzales explains:
The Hyatt takes energy saving a few steps further. It recently received a $26,000 rebate for the installation of more energy efficient lighting throughout the hotel’s lobby. The hotel also has create a “green team” that focuses efforts on helping the community and the environment.
