Barbecue ribs, brisket, and chicken are Texas traditions — and at CPS Energy’s new event, they’ll benefit local families, too.
At noon on Nov. 15, gates will open in Mission County Park, on the banks of the newly renovated San Antonio River, for our inaugural GrillsGiving barbecue cook-off and concert. The event will feature barbecue teams and restaurants from across the city, plus kids activities and an awesome musical lineup including Malford Milligan and The Derailers.
Whether you’re competing in the barbecue cook-off, or just enjoying the music and food, the best part about GrillsGiving is it helps families in need. All proceeds from GrillsGiving benefit our Residential Electric Assistance Partnership or REAP, a non-profit partnership between the City of San Antonio, Bexar County and CPS Energy to help qualified families in need pay their utility bills.
This year alone, REAP has raised more than $160,000, thanks to the generosity of local residents, and CPS Energy has donated an additional $1 million. We are still looking for volunteers, vendors, and contestants; visit grillsgiving.com for all the information you need.
With GrillsGiving, you won’t just be grilling, eating, or having a great time, you’ll be giving back — and that’s worth getting fired up about.
Here’s all the information you will need to have a blast at this year’s GrillsGiving:

Aw, this was an exceptionally nice post. Taking the time and actual effort to create a very good article?
but what can I say? I procrastinate a lot and never manage to get nearly
anything done.
