Go electric and turn over a new ‘LEAF’
If you’re on the fence about buying an electric vehicle (EV), this amazing deal may drive you over the edge. All CPS Energy customers are eligible to receive a rebate of $3,500 on a standard model LEAF and $2,500 on a LEAF Plus. Not convinced yet? Some EV purchases are also eligible for a possible federal income tax credit up to $7,500!
Hmmm, got you thinking about it? While those dollar signs are dancing through your mind, consider some of the other benefits you’ll rake in with a new LEAF:
Convenience: No more last-minute stops at the gas station on the way to or home from work. You can simply charge your vehicle in your garage. So, while you’re sleeping to recharge your body, your EV can get charged up too. And if you do need to charge while you’re out and about, there are plenty of charging stations in the San Antonio area – check them out here.
Low maintenance costs: Say good-bye to oil changes and tune-ups. EVs have fewer moving parts and no combustion engine.
“Fuel” savings: Fuel prices at the gas pump are relatively low, nonetheless you’ll spend less on electricity to power your vehicle than on gas, just be sure to avoid charging during peak demand hours of 3 – 7 p.m. to give the grid a break.
Environment: You’ll be helping our environment and improving air quality by reducing emissions.
How do you get your LEAF rebate?
When purchasing your new
LEAF, present the Nissan dealer with a copy of both sides of the Rebate
Flyer,
proof of eligible residency (such as a driver’s license), and a copy of
your most recent CPS Energy bill (CPS Energy employees can show their CPS
Energy ID badge). The rebate flyer has directions for printing the required
bill using the CPS Energy Manage My Account feature.
The rebate is funded by Nissan and runs through Sept. 30, 2019. Visit the CPS Energy website for more details.
Times are changing and so is the way we get around our city as EVs become the way of the future. Now’s the perfect time to turn over a new LEAF and get onboard – you, your pocketbook and the environment will be glad you did!
