CPS Energy rewards Toyota for energy-saving achievements
Toyota was recently awarded a $384,863 cash incentive from CPS Energy for various energy-saving upgrades.
CPS Energy’s no-cost Commercial Solutions program is designed to help commercial customers use less energy and save money by providing facility improvement recommendations and financial incentives based on energy savings.
Toyota installed high-efficiency indoor lighting and advanced lighting controls, as well as completed HVAC upgrades.
The efficiency upgrades are projected to save 3,302,939 million kilowatt-hours of electricity per year, equal to eliminating the carbon dioxide emissions from 267,975 gallons of gasoline, according to U.S. Environmental Protection Agency calculations. In addition, the upgrades are projected to save Toyota thousands of dollars in energy costs.
Plant Engineering Manager, George Anglin said, “The CPS Energy program offered a way for us to improve our energy usage and reduce energy costs.”
