CPS Energy reconfirms it will protect San Antonio’s share of proposed STP Units 3&4
Representatives from Toshiba American Nuclear Energy recently visited with CPS Energy generation leadership to discuss the status of the proposed South Texas Project Units 3 & 4.
CPS Energy has suspended its portion of the project funding since 2009, but retains a 7.65 percent share.
“We owe it to our community to continue monitoring the progress of the project in order to protect the $400M already invested,” said CEO Doyle Beneby.
Both parties agreed to continue monitoring and evaluating the Texas energy market through the fall, then meet again to reevaluate the project’s status.
