CPS ENERGY HOSTING ASSISTANCE FAIRS IN PARTNERSHIP WITH CITY COUNCIL OFFICES

Utility’s proactive outreach and ongoing work with customers results in increase in payment arrangements

October 21, 2021 (San Antonio) – CPS Energy, in continued partnership with City Council Offices, Bexar County, and other agencies, is hosting more utility assistance fairs throughout the community. Customers attending the fairs will meet one-on-one with Energy Advisors who can help them find financial assistance, enroll them in a CPS Energy assistance program, or set them up on a payment plan.

Through the energy company’s proactive efforts such as the fairs and direct customer calls, CPS Energy has seen an increase in payment arrangements, including a 20 percent increase in customers requesting payment plans and a 47 percent increase in requests for due date extensions. Working with community partners and through the award-winning Customer Outreach Resource Effort (CORE), CPS Energy also has connected customers with nearly $39.5 million in bill assistance.
