CPS ENERGY COMPLETES POWER RESTORATION FOR CUSTOMERS AFFECTED BY LABOR DAY STORM -Update as of September 7, 2021, at 11 a.m.
SAN ANTONIO (September 7, 2021) – As of 5:30 a.m. this morning, CPS Energy crews restored power to all customers impacted by severe storms that swept through Greater San Antonio on Labor Day. Altogether, about 36,000 customers experienced sustained outages longer than 5 minutes at some point during the storm, which developed more than 1,300 lightning strikes and caused 21 power lines to come down.
CPS Energy thanks customers for their patience as crews worked throughout the evening and into the early morning on restoration efforts.
Currently, unrelated outages are affecting a small number of customers, and crews will work as quickly as they can to restore power safely.
