APPLICATION DEADLINE EXTENDED FOR CPS ENERGY’S BOARD OF TRUSTEES

CPS Energy’s Board of Trustees has extended the application deadline to October 12, 2018, for residents who are eligible to serve and who live in the Southwest Quadrant 4 for an upcoming vacancy on its Board of Trustees.

The Board sets policy and works with management to oversee the operation of the nation’s largest municipally owned energy company providing natural gas and electric service. The CPS Energy Board of Trustees is comprised of citizens representing four geographical quadrants of the City of San Antonio, and the Mayor of the City of San Antonio as an ex-officio member. Board members serve for a term of five (5) years and are eligible to serve one additional five (5) year term. Members of the Board must be United States citizens, and must reside in Bexar County within the quadrant they represent. Members of the Board, except the Mayor, receive annual compensation in the amount of $2,000.

The Southwest Quadrant 4 includes the general areas south of Culebra and Grissom Roads and west of IH-35 South from Downtown San Antonio to State Highway 16 and west of U.S. Highway 281. The primary San Antonio City Council Districts represented in the quadrant include City Council Districts 4, 5, and 6, with partial overlap into Districts 1, 3, and 7.
