15,000 homes weatherized!
Yesterday, our District 4 Councilman Rey Saldaña, Interim CEO & President Paula Gold-Williams and Casa Verde recipients came together for a special milestone—the weatherization of 15,000 homes throughout our community. The celebration took place in the front yard of Crystal Granato’s rental home, our 15,000th customer.
“I’m thrilled to see how far the Casa Verde program has come and the positive impact it’s had for our customers and our community. Today is an exciting day for our team because 15,000 homes weatherized means 15,000 families are living in more comfortable and energy efficient homes,” said Interim CEO & President, Paula Gold-Williams.

The weatherization upgrades valued, at about $6,000, took a day to install in Ms. Granato’s home.
“The Casa Verde program has helped save millions of dollars in energy costs and that means that families can use the savings to meet other basic needs like clothing, food, and medication. District 4, in particular, has had more than 1,500 homes weatherized since the program began in 2009 and the community and I are very thankful for the work that has been done,” said District 4 Councilman Rey Saldaña.
The celebration ended with cake in the replica of Crystal’s home.
